The 4th GEL, for another year, as part of its actions for the holy days of Christmas and New Year, gathered food for the needs of the Red Cross of Rhodes, showing once again its sensitivity towards every person who is struggling with the coverage of their basic needs. A commemoration event for the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor disaster took place at the 4th Lyceum of Rhodes. The event was attended in three separate presentations by the students of the 1st (6.12.2022), 2nd and 3 rd Lyceum (9.12 2022).
In the first part, the teachers of our school Antonis Anifantakis and Panagiotis Athanasopoulos presented an open lesson on the causes, events and consequences of the Asia Minor disaster and texts and testimonies were read by students aloud.
In the second part, a documentary about the Asia Minor military destruction was screened and the event closed with songs from Asia Minor and Istanbul, which were sung by students of our school.
