Be a Human.
Love doesn’t mean belonging.
The 4th GEL of Rhodes participated in the conference: “Love doesn’t mean belonging” they co-organized “Be a Human” with the Europe Direct South Aegean of AN.DO. S.A., on 17 September 2022 in the New Wing of Nestorideos Melathro in Rhodes.
This conference was held in memory of Dora Zacharia, but also in memory of all victims of violence, in Rhodes, which was her homeland. The purpose of this movement was through scientific and experiential approaches, to give weight to a clear understanding of consensus, to the early recognition and treatment of manipulative behaviors and ultimately to the awakening of consciousness.
Mrs Kalliopi Ioannou (Dr. in Criminology) and Founder of “Be a Human” spoke about how she envisioned the organization “Be a Human” and stressed the ways in which today’s societies, especially digital ones, cultivate and promote the culture of gender-based violence.
Subsequently,the President of the International Cybersecurity Institute — Special Investigator of Electronic Crimes, Manolis Sfakianakis, who from the very first moment actively and strongly supports with the scientific team of the International Institute of Cybersecurity, every initiative of “Be a Human”, mentioned the role that the family plays in shaping the personality of children and adolescents.
At the same time, criminologists, psychologists, sociologists, artists and representatives of both “Be a Human” and local bodies who, through their professional capacity have dedicated themselves to managing and tackling the phenomenon of violence, gave their suggestions on the topic.
Special mention should be given to the part of the conference where the five mothers of murdered women, including Dora’s mother, presented their daughters through their own eyes. They analysed their vision for a better world and the actions they are doing, united and rallied, to achieve it!
The conference was held with the support of the Cyber Security International Institute (CSIi) and the Museum of Modern Greek Art of Rhodes.
