Good rules for a good project
Four sisters together for Unicef-Our pigotte superheroines
INTRODUCTION
UNICEF is one of the largest humanitarian organizations acting to defend the rights of children in the world. Pigotte, rag dolls, are one of the symbols of Unicef and represent the hope of a better life for all those children who, for social, economic or health reasons, cannot live their childhood in the most peaceful and happy way. We will make pigotte at school, in collaboration with families, which will help us learn about Unicef and children’s rights. Then we will move on to the practical action: we will sell the pigotte and the proceeds will be donated to Unicef which will be able to purchase necessary materials for children living in disadvantaged areas.
GOALS:
-know the importance of international organizations for the defense of children’s rights
-raise students’ awareness of the issues of social, economic and health differences to develop empathy and a sense of solidarity
-develop active and responsible citizenship
– encourage remote collaboration between students, to encourage the development of a mentality open to Europe and the world
-foster a collaborative, creative and inclusive learning method
-improve linguistic and technological skills
PLAN
The project will start in February and will end in June.
This is the program:
FEBRUARY: presentation of teachers and students; online meetings for teachers;
MARCH: creation of pigottes (1 or more for each school); presentation of the pigottes: online meeting with students who will present themselves and one of their pigottes; webinar with Unicef representatives (if possible);
APRIL MAY
- What is Unicef? Create a new logo for this international organization
- Miss E-safety and the defense of children’s rights
- Miss Water protects the Earth: the importance of water and the rules of water saving (creation of advertising video on how to save water)
- Miss Peace loves writing poetry and drawings
- Miss Planet defends the Earth from pollution

EXPECTED RESULTS
At the end of the project the students will learn to engage with European partners to create shared digital products on citizenship education topics. The children will discover Unicef, they will reflect on the rights that they themselves possess, but also on the inequalities that often cause hunger, poverty and wars. The children will also delve into the topics of digital security, water saving and pollution. The teachers will propose active teaching that will encourage everyone’s participation, motivation to learn, cooperative learning, creativity and inclusion.
