Today 0n 2/2/2017 feast of the presantation of the Lord Jesus Christ in the temple, his grace bishop Innocentios Byakatonda celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Buramata Saints Alexios an Holy Apostles.
By the grace of God on 31/01/2017 we had a visiting priest who co-celebrated the divine liturgy with myself at the orphanage and school’s make-shift-chapel. We remembered and prayed for all of you who are praying for us and donating for the children to have food. we have a list of the people of good will who are supporting us. Please Its my humble and prayerful request for you to send me (inbox) a few names of people you would like u…s to remember in our prayers.
Continue praying for us, donating to our Orphanage and spreading the word about our challenges. we hope and pray that God shall enable you and open ways so that you will be able to donate regularly. I am so much humbled by your love and compassion. pray for me the unworthy servant through whom you are able to touch the lives of these young vulnerable souls and in it touch Jesus in their person.
On 17th/Jan/2017 a holy liturgy was held at St. Andonios Orthodox Church – Monde Luweero District in remembrance of the Memory of The Late Bishop Theodoros NANKYAMA which was also accompanied by the ordination of Decan Patrikios Kakande to Priesthood.
Saint Mark’s Orthodox Mission is situated in Edendale, just outside of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. It belongs to the Archbishopric of Good Hope in the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa. The mission was established in 2000 and the Church of Saint Mark was built and consecrated in 2004.
In addition to the church building, there is an old house on the mission property that is in very poor condition and is is urgently in need of repairs. It was recently broken into and seriously damaged. Windows and doors were broken, the rather flimsy burglar bars were forced out, and electrical fittings were stolen. We are concerned that it is vulnerable to further damage until security is improved.
Once these urgent repairs are carried out, further repairs will also be needed. We discovered last year that there was a termite infestation and, when the termites were dealt with, it was discovered that they had done significant damage to the electrical wiring and the roof trusses.
We want to be able to use the house for catechetical activities, children’s activities, and a possible food kitchen that will accompany a food gardens project we are starting on the mission grounds. But it is impossible to use it until it is better secured, and other significant improvements will also need to be done as soon as we can afford them.
We are on the verge of launching a website for the mission, and will post details of that here as soon as it is up. But we are posting this in the meantime as it is really crucial that we get the most necessary repairs done as soon as possible.
This appeal has the blessing of our bishop, His Emminence Metropolitan Sergios, Metropolitan Bishop of Good Hope.
