In conjunction with14th East European Conference on Advances in Database Systems and Information Systems ADBIS 2010, http://www.adbis2010.org
WORKSHOP GOALS AND TOPICS
The workshop «Data Analysis Based on User-Generated Content (DABU)» will be held in conjunction with 14th East European Conference on Advances in Database Systems and Information Systems (ADBIS2010) at Novi Sad, Serbia, September 20-24. The workshop is devoted to various methods and techniques of data analysis based on user-generated content. The goals of the workshop are:
- to estimate current state of art in this area, to discuss known problems and possible ways to solve them,
- to consider possible application areas, to estimate a level of relationship with other areas such as Semantic Web.
Semantically richness and more or less structural nature of such content as e.g. Wikipedia allow to extract from it knowledge that may be used directly or within some additional tools for data analysis. Such approach provides a basis for developing many new Internet- or enterprise-oriented applications such as recommendation systems, automatic annotation or summarization systems, etc. Main list of topics of the workshop includes among others following topics:
- Methods and techniques of user-generated content clearance and enrichment
- Incremental knowledge extraction from evolving user-generated content
- Representation of knowledge extracted from user-generated content
- Knowledge-based data analysis
- Applications of data analysis methods based on the knowledge extracted from user-generated content (semantic search, recommendation systems, social networks, etc)
