Πρόσκληση υποβολής εργασιών για το περιοδικό IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (ToLT) – Special Issue on Intelligent and Innovative Support Systems for CSCL
Computer‐Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) is an interdisciplinary research field that gathers researchers around one common goal: to facilitate the designing, conduction, and analysis of collaborative learning (CL) activities where students and instructors are supported by advanced information and communication technologies.
The use of technology helps to understand how learning emerges in group settings and how to create effective scenarios that enable learning through interaction, exploration, discussion, and collaborative knowledge construction.
The emergence and widespread adoption of the so‐called Web 2.0 technologies that allow people to collaborate anytime and anywhere at an unprecedented scale have opened numerous new opportunities for CSCL. In addition, technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) have reached the level of maturity that allow for them to be successfully applied for supporting collaborative learning in innovative and intelligent ways.
To accomplish the development of innovative and intelligent systems for CSCL, we need to rethink what is considered as state‐of‐the‐art in AI technologies and push the research trends in CSCL towards the new generation of technologically sophisticated systems/methods capable of enhancing/improving CL.
In this special issue, we invite submissions of papers presenting novel ideas, critiques of existing works, models, practical studies and experiments with systems based on innovative technologies in CSCL settings. We especially encourage papers that enhance current CSCL systems in architectural, technological, and philosophical levels and stimulate the exploration of new directions of applying AI and Web 2.0 in the context of CSCL research.
