Said the little boy, “Sometimes I drop my spoon.”
Said the old man, “I do that too.”
The little boy whispered, “I wet my pants.”
“I do that too,” laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, “I often cry.”
The old man nodded, “So do I.”
“But worst of all,” said the boy, “it seems
Grown-ups don’t pay attention to me.”
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
“I know what you mean,” said the little old man.

In English, “repechage” refers to a second chance given to competitors who did not initially qualify for the next round of a competition. It is commonly used in sports and competitions where multiple rounds are involved. The term originates from the French word “repêchage,” meaning “fishing out” or “recovering an object from water.”
In practice, a repechage allows competitors who failed to advance directly to the next stage to compete in additional rounds for a place in the next round. The Phrygian cap is a soft, conical hat with the top pulled forward. Its origins trace back to ancient Phrygia, a region in Asia Minor.
By the 4th century BC (early Hellenistic period), the Phrygian cap was associated with Attis, the consort of Cybele, the cult of which had by then become popular in Greece. At around the same time, the cap appears in depictions of the legendary king Midas and other Phrygians in Greek vase-paintings and sculpture.
The cap became a symbol of freedom and the pursuit of liberty during the Roman era and was later adopted by revolutionaries during the French Revolution, where it came to be known as the “liberty cap.”
A number of national personifications, in particular France’s Marianne, are commonly depicted wearing the Phrygian cap.
