Our school has been decorated with an impressive graffiti artwork, thanks to a wonderful initiative by the Parents’ Association. The colours and designs revitalised the school premises, making them even more vibrant and inviting. As if that weren’t enough, the children’s imagination ran wild when a trumpet blared, creating a unique atmosphere!

Some English speakers pronounce sandwich as samwich (or sammich in very casual speech), but the standard pronunciation is /ˈsæn(d).wɪtʃ/. The /d/ sound is often softened or dropped in fast, informal speech, which is why samwich can be heard, especially in some dialects. However, in formal settings or careful speech, sandwich is the correct pronunciation.

Today has been theatre day for our pupils in Years 3 to 6.
We watched Little Women, a timeless novel of classic literature brought to life on stage at the Alambra Theatre, adapted and directed by Athena Chatziathanassiou.
A cast of seven talented actors; period costumes and inventive stage design; a striking musical backdrop featuring original compositions and contemporary arrangements; expressive movement, choreography, and atmospheric lighting—these were just some of the elements that fascinated us.
Louisa May Alcott’s novel was written in 1868, yet it feels as though it could have been written today.
A journey towards adulthood, a voyage of self-discovery, a story of love and solidarity—set against the backdrop of the American Civil War—unfolded through the lives of the four March sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy.
“What will you be when you grow up?” That ever-important question for every child. As if being a child is not being someone, but simply a stage before one becomes someone. Quite a burden for such “small” shoulders to bear!
The young ladies and gentlemen of the story make their choices. They decide who they will be, despite the obstacles, and embark on their own paths to adulthood—with mistakes that turn into determination and disappointments that turn into joy.
We received post from Newbridge, Ireland, this morning! Everyone was delighted to read the letters, carefully deciphering the beautiful cursive handwriting. It was a wonderful experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed discovering the messages that our new friends from Patrician Primary School Newbridge had written to us!
Such wonderful news! 🎉
It’s great that the children from Vamvakophyto received the letters we wrote in our English class—and they even sent us pictures!
These exchanges bring us closer together and help build strong friendships. We’ll keep our communication going. Who knows? Maybe one day we’ll meet in person!

The children from Vamvakophyto, a village near the town of Serres, have given us a lovely surprise today! We received their beautiful cards for our English class, along with a letter about the history of their village.
Our headteacher, Mr Lambros Yannikopoulos, read the letter to our Year 3 pupils and explained concepts like “internal and external migration” as well as the origins of meat preservation (such as cured and processed meats), which began when people looked for ways to make meat last longer.
Thank you so much, our dear friends!
