Apollon’s nickname, “The Light Brigade” (Η Ελαφρά Ταξιαρχία), became widely associated with the club in the late 1960s, particularly after the release of the 1968 British film The Charge of the Light Brigade, directed by Tony Richardson.
To this day, the name symbolises Apollon’s tradition of elegant football and the fighting spirit that defines the team.
