Maybe sometime in the future, there will be flying cities. I think that would be very interesting. Also, airplanes would be used much more since there would be no other way to get from one city to another.

That sounds amazing! Imagine looking out of your window and seeing another city floating by like a giant airship. Just don’t drop your keys—they might land in someone’s coffee 10,000 feet below! And hey, at least traffic jams would be a thing of the past… unless we start having mid-air traffic controllers yelling, “You’re in the wrong air lane!”

“Floating cities” might be a better choice if you imagine them hovering or gently drifting in the sky, like giant airships or platforms. “Flying cities” sounds more like they actively move around, like airplanes.
So, if your cities are meant to stay in one place (but in the air), go with floating cities. If they travel around, flying cities works better!
