Once upon a time, there was a mischievous parrot named Pepper who loved learning English. He lived with Zeta Zesty, who was a dedicated student of the language. Every evening, Zeta would sit down to watch her favourite channel, English Lessons with Kate, and Pepper would perch on her shoulder, pretending to pay attention.
One day, Zeta noticed Pepper mumbling during the lesson.
“Are you trying to repeat what Kate is saying?” she asked.
“Easy peasy lemon squeezy!” squawked Pepper, proud of his perfect mimicry.
Zeta laughed and decided to test him. “Okay, Pepper, what’s the difference between ‘I’ve been swimming’ and ‘I swam’?”
Pepper paused, tilted his head dramatically, and said, “Uh… swimming is wet?”
The next day, Zeta told her classmates about Pepper’s antics, and they came up with a plan. They set up a mock lesson, with Zeta pretending to be Kate. Pepper was their star student.
“Pepper,” Zeta began in her best teacher voice, “What’s the plural of mouse?”
“Mice! Everyone knows that!” replied Pepper smugly.
“And what’s the plural of house?” she asked.
“Hice!” shouted Pepper, flapping his wings triumphantly.
The room erupted in laughter, and Pepper, basking in the applause, added, “Like Kate says, learning English is a piece of cake!”
