When Benjamin moved from rainy London to sunny Valencia, he was excited to try new things. On his first day, he wanted to make friends, so he decided to share his favourite English tea. But when he asked his new neighbours for milk, they stared at him in confusion. “Milk? For tea?” they laughed. Instead, they handed him a glass of something called horchata. Benjamin took a sip and smiled—it was sweet and nutty, but it definitely wasn’t tea!
A few days later, Benjamin was invited to a big paella lunch. Wanting to impress his new friends, he decided to make his “special rice dish” from London. But when he served it, everyone burst out laughing. “Paella doesn’t have peas or sausages!” they giggled. Benjamin laughed too, realising he had a lot to learn. From that day, he embraced the fun of living in Valencia, swapping his teacups for horchata and learning to cook paella the proper way.
