Erasmus+, Romania 1st day:Travel and arrival in Timisoara

    11 Μαΐου 2026 από

We set off at 6:30 in the morning from Pella. The journey was long and wonderful. The changing landscapes were accompanied by our excitement, which peaked when we arrived at Iosefin Residence Hotel. Everything feels almost like a fairy tale. Our first introduction to Timișoara took place during our evening walk, with its imposing buildings beautifully illuminated. The tram adds to the city’s charm and picturesque atmosphere. Tomorrow is our first day at school. So far, we have seen only a few things, yet we are already realizing that Erasmus+ mobility is a powerful motivation for self-improvement and learning, helping us become part of a creative community of Erasmus collaborations.

Erasmus+, Courses and Training, Dublin 6.2026

    2 Ιουλίου 2026 από

Erasmus New logo 2024 blue e1730116918358Erasmus+,  Courses and Training in Dublin by Europass Teacher Academy

Subject: “Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention”

Professional development is a way of life. It is not always something that others have to provide for you, even if those others are the educational system and its institutions. Lifelong learning is a way of growing throughout your career and in life.

It takes motivation, passion, and time. You need to look for opportunities that suit your interests and support your work. Sometimes you need to become a learner again in order to become a better teacher for your students.

Erasmus+ mobilities are about much more than attending courses and training sessions.

They encourage you to develop a mindset of curiosity, flexibility, and readiness for change. They inspire you to find certified organisations to work with, study the needs of your students and your school community, and design a complete project together with another school or organisation within the European Union.

They also encourage you to involve your colleagues and students, creating a team that shares knowledge and experiences with the whole school community. In this way, more people become involved, gain experience, and help bring positive change to the school.

Our own school’s needs led us to focus on conflict management, emotional intelligence, and bullying prevention. As a result, we prepared two Erasmus+ mobility projects: one student mobility in Timișoara in May 2026, and one staff mobility for three teachers who attended a courses and training programme in Dublin in June 2026.

The experience was unforgettable. Thanks to Erasmus+ funding, we travelled to Dublin and attended a training course at Europass Teacher Academy from 21 to 26 June 2026. Our trainer was Michael Farrell, an inspiring teacher who adapted the course to our needs.

For five days, we took part in practical activities combined with theory. The lessons were based on teamwork, communication, and sharing ideas. Our group included three participants from Greece, one from Germany, two from Türkiye, one from Portugal, and one from Italy.

This multicultural environment reflected the values of Erasmus+: respect, inclusion, cooperation, and interest in learning about each other’s cultures. We also learned a great deal about Irish culture through the stories and experiences shared by our trainer, Michael Farrell.

On Monday, after class, we enjoyed an international food evening, where everyone shared traditional dishes from their own country. Later, we joined a walking tour of Dublin with our wonderful guide, Ruth, and learned about Ireland’s rich history.

During the following days, after our lessons, we discovered hurling, Ireland’s national sport. We also took part in traditional Irish dancing lessons with the excellent teacher John Davis. We walked along the beautiful cliffs of Howth, enjoyed the amazing scenery, and tasted the local food. We also joined a half-day tour to Power’s Court and visited the highest waterfall in Ireland.

One of the greatest lessons of the week was discovering how much we have in common with people who were complete strangers just a few days before. We learned how valuable it is to hear new perspectives, exchange good practices, and broaden the way we think.

We returned home richer in knowledge, friendships, and experiences.

Everyone should have the chance to experience Erasmus+. It opens the door to new knowledge, new cultures, and new friendships. Above all, it promotes inclusion, cooperation, and equal opportunities for everyone.

The song that plays in the video is the result of the great collaboration that led our colleague from Germany to write and compose it using AI tools. It was a wonderful surprise and shows the energy we had as a team.

Erasmus+, Timisoara 8.5.26, Last day at school, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara

    13 Μαΐου 2026 από

    Erasmus+, Timisoara 8.5.26
5th day at school, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara
On the occasion of Europe Day on Saturday, the day’s activities focused on the role that the two collaborating countries have in the European Union.
Then, a Kahoot game tested what we had learned.
The closing ceremony followed, and the Headmaster of Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 awarded Certificates of Participation in the Erasmus+ mobility to everyone involved.
After that, we took a tour of the school. We noticed many common mentalities and some very good practices, such as the teachers having envelopes with their names on them, where other teachers could leave anonymous or signed notes mentioning something positive they had noticed about their colleagues.
In one classroom, the young students, around 9 years old, were combining geometry with art by drawing the Cathedral of Timisoara. This inspired an interesting collaboration idea that could be developed in our school between Maths and Art.
After the school tour, we had lunch at a traditional restaurant. We especially appreciated the soup that was served as a starter. It was like medicine.
Between 4 and 6 o’clock, our Romanian partners organized a karaoke party. That is how this collaboration ended: with fun, joy, happiness, emotional expression, laughter, singing, and dancing.
With hugs, embraces, and emotional moments, we said not “goodbye” but “see you again” — maybe in another Erasmus+ mobility, maybe while traveling alone, Greeks in Romania or Romanians in Greece.
Thank you, Erasmus+, for this opportunity, and thank you, Romania, for your excellent hospitality.

Erasmus+, Timisoara 7.5.26 Excursion to Sura, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara

    13 Μαΐου 2026 από

Erasmus+, Timisoara 7.5.26, 4th day at school, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara
The topic of the day was: “If you want to eat, first you must cook.” 😊
Today’s program included an excursion to Sura (Dumbrava). We arrived there at 12 o’clock. The place was surrounded by grass and trees, and all the buildings were made of wood.
After washing our hands, we started making pizzas and, once they were baked, we enjoyed eating them together.
We jumped on trampolines, took pictures near the stream, and then joined a pottery activity where we decorated our own cups. At the end, we ate crêpes and, with sweetness in our mouths, we returned to Timisoara.
    What did we gain?
We realized that if you want to eat, first you must cook. We learned the value of collaboration and interaction, got to know each other better in a friendly environment, had fun, exchanged experiences, and shared different views about life.
We are grateful to be here and we thank our partners for the time they spent organizing and participating in the joint activities.
On the fourth day, the conversation naturally turned to the Erasmus+ mobility programs that take place at university level. This is a great opportunity for the students. The children are interested in learning more about how they could participate in Erasmus+ programs as university students.
This proves that they enjoy the experience, understand its benefits, and appreciate the value of interacting with other cultures, meeting new people, and discovering different ways of thinking.
We have become richer in experiences since the day of our departure for Timisoara, and we still have one more day left.

Erasmus+, Timisoara 6.5.26 Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara

    13 Μαΐου 2026 από

    Erasmus+, Timisoara 6.5.26
3rd day at school, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6 Timisoara
Every day is a surprise. Today’s activities were related to words — words that travel. We discovered Greek words that are used in the Romanian language. We worked in pairs and created new words by combining one Romanian and one Greek word. We wrote definitions and sentences using our new words.
We explored the deeper meanings of words and wrote poems.
Our last activity was a podcast based on questions and answers about the expectations of the Erasmus+ mobility, the benefits for someone who gets involved, and our impressions of the daily activities.
Then we went to the Banat Village Museum by tram. We had a guided tour and took part in an activity where we drew traditional folklore patterns on wooden spoons.
In the evening, we enjoyed a guided tour of the city centre. During the last three evenings, we had been visiting the centre, admiring the architecture and taking pictures of it at sunset and at night, but we didn’t know its history. Today we learned about it.
The day ended with free time in Union Square.
We thank our collaborators for the time they spent organizing and carrying out all these activities, as well as for joining us in the after-school activities.

Erasmus+, Timisoara 2nd day at school, Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 6

    11 Μαΐου 2026 από

At school, the students were involved in activities about emotions and managing conflicts. They also designed the flags of the two collaborating countries by sewing, and then they had sports time in the yard. We had lunch at school and then took the tram to the Cathedral Museum, where we learned some information about the cathedral. Our next educational stop was at the Revolution Memorial. We learned about the historical events that took place in Timisoara, and more generally in Romania, in December 1989. In the afternoon, we had some free time.
