Apart from the apps and platforms one uses in order to enrich their teaching methods, techniques and educational process, there’s a number of internet resources one can leverage so as to broaden activities and offer more drilling opportunities to one’s students. Among many, those I often use are the following:
- Digital school: This platform is supported by the Greek Ministry of Education and is related not only to the educational material we have been using in Greek public schools but it also offers a considerable number of services such as e-me platform, e-books, photodentro aggregation service and other interesting extensions. Currently I am working on e-me platform which also offers me the opportunity to create hives, files, content, assignments, personal collection from photodentro, design tools and e-portfolio. I love e-me!!
- Liveworksheets: You can’t teach English without knowing Liveworksheets. I don’t think this site needs an introduction. It is unique on creating your own interactive worksheets for your students as classwork and/or homework and of course share them with other educators. I also love the fact that you can classify them under your own workbooks and use them in whatever fruitful way.
- Britishcouncillearn: It is divided into Learn English Teens and Learn English Kids. Depending on the grade you teach, you can choose from a number of very qualitative activities and make your class interesting. Personally I really love the videos as I use them for literary projects or CLIL approached activities.
- ISLcollective: It’s in its name! It is collective and that is power. Worksheets, Powerpoint presentations and video lessons are collected into this site and can be used to enhance your lesson by following the PPP method; that is Present, Practise, Produce. Ideal for teaching Grammar!
