KA1 Επιμορφωτικό πρόγραμμα στη Λισσαβώνα
Το πρόγραμμα έλαβε χώρα στη Λισσαβώνα της Πορτογαλίας, στο σχολικό συγκρότημα «Agrupamento de Escolas de S. João da Talha».
Το πρόγραμμα που παρακολουθήσαμε είχε στόχο την επιμόρφωση σε θέματα τεχνολογίας και τη χρήση της στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία. Επιπλέον περιείχε και χαρακτηριστικά ενημέρωσης για την παιδεία και την εκπαίδευση γενικότερα στην χώρα αυτή.
| Η διάρκεια του προγράμματος ήταν 6 ημέρες οι οποίες περιείχαν σεμινάρια 6 και 7 ωρών. Το υλικό ήταν διαρθρωμένο με τέτοιο τρόπο έτσι ώστε να ευνοείται ο ομαδοσυνεργατικός χαρακτήρας του σεμιναρίου. |

Ρομά και εκπαίδευση
Πάνω από 12 εκατομμύρια Ρομά ζουν στην ΕΕ, σύμφωνα με τις τελευταίες μελέτες, καθιστώντας τους τη μεγαλύτερη μειονοτική ομάδα στην Ευρώπη: στη Ρουμανία μόνο υπάρχουν σχεδόν ένα εκατομμύριο Ρομά. Οι Ρομά είναι μειονεκτούσα και κοινωνικά αποκλεισμένη ομάδα, ιδίως όσον αφορά την πρόσβαση στην εκπαίδευση, την απασχόληση, την υγειονομική περίθαλψη και τη στέγαση. Η έλλειψη εκπαίδευσης για τους Ρομά είναι μια από τις κύριες αιτίες της κατάστασής: λίγα παιδιά και νέοι Ρομά πηγαίνουν στο σχολείο και η εκπαιδευτική τους επίδοση είναι χαμηλή, γεγονός που επιδεινώνει τις ευκαιρίες απασχόλησής τους. Σε όλη την Ευρώπη, οι διακρίσεις στερούν και το μη συμπεριληπτικό σχολικό σύστημα στερούν από τις κοινότητες των Ρομά το δικαίωμα στην εκπαίδευση. Τα στατιστικά στοιχεία δείχνουν ότι ένα υψηλό ποσοστό των Ρομά αποτυγχάνουν στο σχολείο (τα ποσοστά πρόωρης εγκατάλειψης του σχολείου είναι συχνά υπερδιπλάσια στο δημοτικό ενώ λιγότερο από το 8% των Ρομά μαθητών ολοκληρώνουν τη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση).
Η σύμπραξη για το σχέδιο P.R.I.D.E. Policies for Roma Inclusive Dimension in Europe προκύπτει από την ανάγκη βελτίωσης της εκπαίδευσης και κατά συνέπεια της ζωής των Ρομά,

The project raises up from the need to improve the educational level and consequently life condition of the Roma: the project aims to help break down the barriers and attitudes that result in young Roma students dropping out of education and deny better career opportunities and it also enables parents to realise their own potential as advisors, educators and a resource for their children. It offers parents, schools and local authorities a range of possible methods for improving the outcomes for this group, in order to contribute to a stronger, more unified and better articulated inclusion of Roma students in EU education sector.
4th GEL Rodou Visiting CERN
35 students and 3 teachers from 4th Lyceum of Rhodes visited the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland. The visit took place the 14th of December 2015. All students participated in a school project about science and were well prepared about the structure of matter, the nuclear research and physics concerning energy.
4th GEL Rodou “MANAGEMENT of DISASTER VICTIMS”
6th International Congress “MANAGEMENT of DISASTER VICTIMS”
32 students and their teacher Filippaki Lina participated in the 6th International Congress “Management of Disaster Victims” that took place in Rhodes 8-12 October 2016. They were all volunteers acting as disaster victims and accepting medical health from medical students, nurses and doctors. It was an excellent experience for everyone!!

Project description
More than 12 million Roma people live in the EU, according to the latest studies, making them the largest minority group in Europe: in Romania, there are almost a million Roma people, making the second largest minority, after Hungarians. They are the most discriminated and socially excluded group, especially in accessing education, employment, healthcare and housing. The lack of education among Roma is one of main causes of their current situation:

Science Escape Room 4th GEL Rodou
On Monday the 3rd of October the 4th Lyceum of Rhodes organised a Science Escape Room for students. Separated in small groups students had to solve riddles based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology, in order to find the key and unlock the door of the science lab. There was plenty of enthousiasm and everyone agreed on how interesting and amusing school science could be.
