I am cut out to do something = I am the right person for something, I have the neccesary qualities

 examples:

  • He is not a very patient man. He is not cut out to be a teacher.
  • I ‘m not cut out to live in a big city. I was raised in the countryside in a small village. 
  • He is not cut out to be a lawyer. He is not smart and hard-working enough.
  • They are such a nice couple! They seem to be cut out for each other. 
  • She isn’t cut out to be a ballerina. She isn’t slim and flexible enough.

 examples:

  • I ‘m sorry to cut in on your conversation, but it’s really time to go.
  • “Just tell us the truth for once!”, Mary cut in.
  • “Please, let me say this”, she cut in impatiently.
  • I was about to say something when Jake cut in unexpectedly.
  • Jennifer cut in and asked if the flight tickets were included in the price.
  • I cut in with some useful comments.
  • He is so annoying! He cut in on our dialogue several times with some stupid remarks!

cut back (on something) = start eating or drinking less of something (because it is bad for your health)

examples:

  • He used to smoke a lot but now he is trying to cut back and eventually quit it.
  • You have to cut back on sugar if you want to lose weight.
  • He really has to cut back on alcohol. He has started drinking too much.
  • Salty food is tasty but we should all cut back on salt. It is not healthy.
  • You can’t cut back on fat if you eat meat every day.
