11/7: Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Πληθυσμών
Η 11η Ιουλίου καθιερώθηκε ως Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Πληθυσμών το 1990 για να κάνει γνωστό στο ευρύ κοινό τα προγράμματα του «Ταμείου για τον Πληθυσμό» (UNFPA), ενός οργανισμού του ΟΗΕ που προωθεί το δικαίωμα κάθε άνδρα, γυναίκας και παιδιού στην υγεία και τις ίσες ευκαιρίες. Το «Ταμείο» σχεδιάζει και υλοποιεί πολιτικές και προγράμματα περιορισμού της φτώχειας, αντισύλληψης, ασφαλούς κύησης, πρόληψης και αντιμετώπισης του AIDS και ισότητας των δύο φύλων.
