Let’s talk about the past. We will look at Past Continuous and Simple Past with a variety of activities. Study Past Continuous θεωρία & παράδειγμα

Practise the Past Continuous and write what everyone was doing while you were sleeping. Here’s another challenge for you! Drag and drop words to arrange the sentence in its correct order. Hurry up, the clock is ticking!

This week we will be working with an amazing story, one of my favourite ones, The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler (brought to my attention some years ago by my dear colleague Stella Lioupa).

You can watch the award-nominated BBCone animated film and have the book read aloud. You can do a drag-and-drop activity on the Gruffalo body parts and then do a quiz to check your understanding of the story.

One thing I love about this story is the clever rhyming (=ομοιοκαταληξία). Play a game: match the sentences that rhyme choosing the correct sentence and writing it under its rhyming pair. To remember personality adjectives, do this matching activity

Use the adjectives from the previous activity to compare Gruffalo, the mouse, the fox, the owl and the snake: friendly – attractive – smart – naughty – cute – delicate – playful – dangerous – unpredictable – fierce – supernatural – ugly – horrible – scary.Use everything we have learnt about the Gruffalo to make a Gruffalo WANTED poster

Listen to Jamie talking about his daily routine at https://www.voki.com/site/pickup?scid=16337256&chsm=cd315355a4d91ef51e3007e477dfda2d&allowshare=0  . He uses Simple Present because he talks about things he does every day in his normal life. If you need help, look at the Jamie the chef- tapescript . Then do the Jamie the chef activities  .

Jamie is always very careful washing his hands and keeping everything clean. Even more now with Covid-19. Listen to a parody (something made funny) of a Beatles song called I wanna wash my hands and write the correct word in the gaps choosing from the ones given. (Go to https://genius.com/The-beatles-i-want-to-hold-your-hand-lyrics to read the lyrics and listen to the original Beatles song).

I love animated films (who doesn’t?) and one of my favourite animated series is Shaun the Sheep. Let’s watch an interactive video of an episode at https://en.islcollective.com/video-lessons/shawn-the-sheep-little-shop-of-horrors and answer the questions you see in it. Then do some creative writing SHAUN little sheep of horrors e-class
