GREECE, OUR COUNTRY

Greece is a Mediterranean country. It is situated in the southern part of the Balkan peninsula.

Our country is mostly mountainous but there are also large plains and rivers. Greece has got a lot of islands and beautiful beaches which attract tourists from all over the world.

On mountainous areas the weather is warm in summer but cold and snowy in winter. At coastal areas and on islands winters are mild and summers are hot and dry.

The people are friendly, polite and hospitable. They are farmers, fishermen or shepherds. Others are civil servants or run their own business.

Greece is a beautiful country with a glamorous past, a lot of sights and traditions. It’s a wonderful place both to live in and visit.
