Greece, our country
Our country is situated in the southern part of the Balkan peninsula. It borders with Albania, Skopia and Bulgaria on the north, Italy on the west and Turkey on the east.
Greece is mostly mountainous, but there are also plains, rivers and lakes. There are a lot of beautiful beaches and islands which attract many tourists from all over the world.
At coastal areas and islands the weather is hot and sunny in summer and mild in winter. On mountainous areas it is cold, rainy and snowy in winter and warm in summer.
People in Greece work on farms or at factories. Others are fishermen or shepherds and some others are civil servants or run their own business. Greek people are friendly, hospitable, helpful and talkative.
Greece is a beautiful country with a glamorous history. It’s a nice place both to live in and to visit. We feel proud of our country despite the latest economic crisis!
