It’s time to travel

We started our voyage through the universe and learnt about the solar system and the planets.

We tried to identify the planets and learn their names.  You can also watch the following video for review.

 

We tried something little harder with the story of  ” The little prince “

We’ve read the story, acted it out and finally we’ve made a poster with The little prince’s travels

Winter Clothes!!

Since winter is here we have to get ready!!!

That’s why we tried to find out the right clothes

 

 

Now we know the clothes we got dressed to be ready for the cold!!

We are not the only ones who got dressed Froggy can’t wait for sping so he wakes us in the middle of winter to play with the snow

It’s really funny and the kids enjoyed his adventure

Christmas

We get ready for Christmas and there are so many things to do.

First of all, we talk about Christmas in Greece and Christmas in the United Kingdom.

Kids compare the customs and learn new words.

We make a poster with pictures of words that have to do with Christmas.

 

Our friend Teddy the Bear made a mat as a present for his little friends with the new words.

A popular fairy tale is the “The Gingerbread Man”

Children really love it although there is a sad end. But that’s life and there is a morale that we shouldn’t trust anybody.

We read the story , watched a video, pantomimed , filled in a worksheet and finally danced with a really nice song.

Family

It’s time to talk about our family.

So today we saw flashcards of family members and learned new words.  We also played guessing games with the new vocabulary.

We heard “the finger family” song, danced and acted it out.

Colours and Feelings

We read the book “The Colour Monster” which is the story of a little monster which is mixed up and doesn’t know why.

We talked about different feelings such as: happiness    sadness    anger   fear    being calm and finally    love

Each feeling has a different colour

We helped the monster understand its feelings and put them into different jars according to colour

We decided that it’s Ok to have different feelings

We drew our own monsters.

 

Finally, we danced and acted out the song “If you are happy and you know it”

 

 

 

Hello, dear parents and children !

I’m Miss Catherine the English teacher at nursery school

It’s the first time we have English at nursery school but I think it’s really fun and everybody enjoys it !!

The kids showed great interest meeting me and Teddy, a teddy bear from the United Kingdom who is my “friend” but who doesn’t speak Greek. English is his mother tongue and that’s how he’s going to communicate with the kids so they have to “get used to it”.

From now on we are going to share some of our English activities with you.

 

 

 

 

Autumn  Φθινόπωρο

• We talked about autumn and focused on the change of the colour of tree leaves in order to learn the colours

 

 

 

 

• We learned numbers 1 – 5 by playing games and answering the question “how many tree leaves can you see?”
• 

 

• 

 

• We also sang and danced to the rhythm of the song “Orange, yellow, green and brown”.

 

• Finally, we watched a video of Peppa Pig: Windy Autumn Day.
