Yesterday class D1 gathered in the school library to meet their Polish friends and their teacher Mrs Edyta online for the first time. They exchanged information such as name, age, hobbies, favourite food/colour/sport. Although some were nervous at first, they liked it so much that they’re going to have one again next Thursday!

Tomorrow class D1 is meeting their eTwinning partners from Poland and their teacher Mrs Edyta online.They’re really excited! To be prepared they practiced a bit using the wonderful finger puppets they made themselves.They’re so looking forward to the video conference! I’m sure they’ll do great and I hope they enjoy it!
Today the Croatian class and class D’ met online!Each pupil talked to the friend that’s going to exchange a Christmas card with. It was an amazing experience for both parties. Although they’ve been taught English for only 1-2 years, they were able to learn a few things about their foreign friends through simple questions such as
What’s your name?
How are you today?
How old are you?
What’s your favourite colour/sport/school subject?
The Croatian class also sang a beautiful song in English that the class D enjoyed very much!

This Tuesday class D is meeting their Croatian friends on Skype for the first time. So, to get a bit prepared they rehearsed the questions they’re going to ask them.They’re excited and really looking forward to meeting them!
Today we had a wonderful day at All Day School! It was Jack ‘o Lantern day!
Classes E’ & ST’ talked to the younger ones (C’ & D’) about Halloween and its symbol, the pumpkin. Then they organized a competition: they asked them to design a face for a Jack ‘o Lantern on a piece of paper and voted for the best. The girls’ design was the winner and Anna and Konstantina (ST’) transferred the design on the pumpkin. Class ST’ had read about how to curve a pumpkin on an old issue of our magazine, so they knew exactly what to do! After that I cut the face features and all of the kids enjoyed taking out the seeds. When the pumpkin was turned into a Jack ‘o Lantern, we drew the curtains, turned off the lights and lit a candle inside. It was magic!
The kids decided to make a recipe out of the leftover pumpkin and a video on how to curve it! Looking forward to it!
Our English Library is open again!
Today it was the first day and pupils from class C, D, E and ST gathered at the English room, chatted, listened to music and browsed at the books. There was a reading corner where some of them spent their time flipping English magazines and reading fairy tales.
The librarians were amazing! They were helpful and polite despite the work load!

All day school pupils are involved in a project about British customs. So, after studying about Halloween a bit, they decided to deck the English room with the symbols of Halloween.Hence since last Friday the class has been filled with ghosts, pumpkins, bats and skeletons!

Class C revised the alphabet today and had fun!
They wrote a letter on their friend’s back who tried to guess which letter it was.
Then they unscrambled the alphabet cards and made pairs on the desks.
Super!
I’m very happy to announce that the project ‘Sing and Write Christmas‘ class ST’ worked on last year recieved not one, but TWO AWARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Classes E’ and ST’ discussed and decided about the kind of information they want to know about Halloween, wrote a list and started looking on the internet. I wonder…what did they find?
There was an unexpected visitor in All Day school today…a witch riding her broom! Yes, it’s true, because today it’s Halloween and witches walk around in the USA and the UK so one of them visited Greece! She gave pupils the creeps as they walked into the English room! Vasilia, Dimitris, Kostas and the rest of the kids screamed with fear when they saw her! However, she turned out to be a nice witch. She showed them photos of Halloween, they filled in a quiz afterwards and talked about the festival. Finally they made their own scary bat masks. Classes C’ and D’ are now ready to flyyyyyyyyy!

The English room got filled with the colours of the rainbow!
Incy Wincy is a determined little spider that doesn’t give up! He wants to go up the water spout despite the rain and he finally makes it! Classes C’ and D’ sang the song and made an Incy Wincy craft to hang in their bedroom!
