2025-2026
As a Regional Lead for Europe in the Climate Action Schools initiative, I played an active role in coordinating and hosting a series of Expert Webinar Watch Party Sessions throughout the 2025–2026 school year. These sessions brought together educators, students, and climate‑action advocates from across the region to engage with global experts and deepen their understanding of sustainability, climate science, and environmental education. According to the official program document, I am listed as one of the two European Regional Leads: “Europe – Aglaia‑Ellie Mantzana” .
My responsibilities included organizing and facilitating multiple regional watch parties aligned with the global expert webinars. These sessions took place on:
- 31 October 2025, where I hosted the European Watch Party for the webinar featuring Amanda Abrom, Director of the Global Schools Program, focusing on energy and sustainable development through gamified curricula. The schedule confirms: “Aglaia‑Ellie Mantzana – 31st October 2025… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 22 November 2025, supporting the session with Pavel Kounchev on Climate Arts and The Greats platform, with my regional event scheduled for “22nd November… 11:00–12:00am Greece/Athens” .
- 19 December 2025, where I facilitated the European Watch Party for the webinar with Jane Squier from Salt Spring Island, Canada. The document lists my session as: “19th December 2025… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 16 January 2026, hosting the regional session connected to the webinar by Dr. Lee H. Dietterich on ecosystem science and sustainability. The schedule notes: “16th January 2026… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 27 February 2026, coordinating the European Watch Party linked to the session with Justin Edwards from Minecraft Education. The document confirms: “27th February 2026… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 20 March 2026, facilitating the regional event for Andrew Breithaupt’s webinar on Climate Arts and Storytelling, scheduled as: “20th March 2026… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 17 April 2026, hosting the European Watch Party for Dr. Trent Ford, the Illinois State Climatologist. The document lists: “17th April 2026… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
- 22 May 2026, coordinating the final session of the cycle with activist artist Carrie Ziegler, with my regional event scheduled for “22nd May 2026… 08:00–09:00pm Greece/Athens” .
Across all these events, my role involved moderating discussions, supporting educators in understanding the expert content, and fostering a collaborative environment where participants could exchange ideas and reflect on climate‑action practices. As a Regional Lead, I contributed to strengthening the European network of Climate Action Schools and helped ensure that teachers and students had meaningful opportunities to engage with global climate education initiatives.
