Why we celebrate Thanksgiving
People in England were unhappy, because their king didn’t let them pray, so they went to Holand. But they were poor and that’s the reason why they left their home once again. They took a ship called Mayflower and went to America. Because America was cold, from the 99 original passengers only 57 survived the first winter. An Indian named Skouanto visited the pilgrims. He stayed with them and taught them how to plant their corn, wheat and barley. The children were very happy in their new home Plymouth Rock. After the wheat, corn and barley had grown, they invited the Indians for a Thanksgiving meal and so every year we are having a Thanksgiving meal.
