Do you like crafts?
Would you like to do some crafting during your Easter holidays ? You will have plenty of free time!
Here is an interesting video of a chicken craft:
Do you like it?
Why don’t you make it at home?
Last Wednesday class E’ cooked in class! They made two desserts: chocolate log and surprise yogurt. They asked their mothers for the recipes, translated them in English and presented them on eWriters through videos! The videos are really nice, but most importantly, the desserts came out divine!!!!!!!!!
This is a wonderful video made today by class D’ especially for eWriters. They are great weather reporters! Don’t you think?
A year ago the 1st and 2nd Primary Schools of Akrata along with Aigeira Primary School participated in the video challenge ‘I love my hometown’ hosted by the Greek School Network. Each school had to make a video that presented its hometown. In our case, all three schools worked together and collected material to present the area. The pupils of the 1st and 2nd Primary Schools of Akrata even wrote the captions in English during the English lesson. The video came out really nice. Let’s remember it:
It isn’t often that it snows in our area!
So, when it does, especially for two days in a row, it’s quite an event!
It’s something to celebrate!
And how do we celebrate it today?
No school today! They’re closed due to the weather!
Hurrayyyyy!
We can play in the snow, make snowmen, play snowball fights and slide on the snow!
Yesterday at school we learned words relevant to snow and then we draw some lovely snowy scenery.
Here are some of the amazing paintings that class D’ of the 2nd Primary School of Akrata made.

I’m leaving you with the wonderful waltz of the snowflakes by P.I.Tchaikovsky from his ballet ‘The Nutcracker’.
What could be more appropriate today?
Snow is a natural phenomenon.
The video shows how a scientist studies snowflakes!
It’s quite interesting to watch!
I hope you like it.
Brrrr…….
It’s winter and sooo cold outside!!!
The weather report says it may snow this week! So, why not bring some snow into our houses too?
Do you know how to make snowflakes?
It’s super easy!
All you need is white paper and a pair of scissors .
Watch the video and make some!
Good Luck!
This is a video with lyrics of a wonderful song by
the Beatles.

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare’s playing company, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, and was destroyed by fire on 29 June 1613. A second Globe Theatre was built on the same site by June 1614 and closed in 1642.
A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named “Shakespeare’s Globe“, opened in 1997 approximately 230 metres from the site of the original theatre. (info via this site)
William Shakespeare ( 1564-1616)
Stratford- upon- Avon: Shakespeare’s birthplace
This is a very interesting video about the Globe. You can see the theater from the inside.
And this is the trailer of the film ‘Shakespeare in Love’, which won many Oscar awards. It is about young Shakespeare and his first great love. It’s an exciting movie with beautiful costumes, humor and excellent performances!
The Pace Egg Plays are traditional village plays, with a rebirth theme, in which St George smites all challengers and the fool, Toss Pot, rejoices. The drama takes the form of a combat between the hero and villain, in which the hero is killed and brought to life, often by a quack doctor.
The plays take place in England during Easter, indeed the word ‘Pace’ comes from the old English word ‘pasch’ literally meaning ‘Easter’. They are a tradition that was once widespread throughout England, but is now only practiced in a few areas, particularly Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
Many Pace Egg plays died out after the Great War, when many of the men who took part in them were killed in action. The Bury Pace Eggers were revived in 1969, and still perform in pubs and square around the town and surrounding villages over the Easter weekend. (From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pace_Egg_play)
Here are two more songs along with the lyrics, since you enjoyed ‘I saw her standing there’ so much.
Which one do you like the best?
Ticket to ride
I think I’m gonna be sad,
I think it’s today, yeah.
The girl that’s driving me mad
Is going away.
She’s got a ticket to ride,
She’s got a ticket to ride,
She’s got a ticket to ride,
But she don’t care.
She said that living with me
Was bringing her down yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
She’s got a ticket to ride…
I don’t know why she ridin’ so high,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
Before she gets to saying goodbye,
She ought to think twice,
She ought to do right by me.
I think I’m gonna be sad…
The night before
We said our goodbyes (ah, the night before)
Love was in your eyes (ah, the night before)
Now today I find you have changed your mind
Treat me like you did the night before
Were you telling lies? (ah, the night before)
Was I so unwise? (ah, the night before)
When I held you near, you were so sincere
Treat me like you did the night before
Last night is a night I will remember you by
When I think of things we did, it makes me wanna cry
The Beatles were one of the most influential and most commercially successful groups in modern history.

Here is a video that shows their music history through the years.
You’ll be surprized how their music changed over the years!
Enjoy!
And if you feel like singing, here is the song we listened to in class!
Class ST’ posted some wonderful biographies last Friday with lots of information on their favourite actors/actresses!
Their postings are really interesting to read, since they have information on their lives and their careers. Moreover, they had the lovely idea to add beautiful pictures and videos from popular films. In particular, the videos make their postings really delightful!
So, here are two videos of my two most favourite films.
The one is from ‘Η Παριζιάνα’, starring my BEST ACTRESS EVER, Rena Vlahopoulou.
The second is from ‘Φαλακρός Πράκτωρ’. I believe that this is one of the most hilarious scenes in the Greek films!!!
Enjoy!
Looking forward to your comments!
This is a lovely contribution by an older student of mine, M.K. She forwarded it to me, and now I want to share with you all. It’s a song by the famous band ‘The Beatles’ and it always brings back the sweetest and most amazing school memories … It’s called ‘Yellow submarine’.
Enjoy!
