Sometimes, the best answer is a more interesting question – Terry Pratchett
I have always wondered why nasty little (ehm… actually, not so little) buggers such as centipedes and scolopendras in particular, seem to be such an unavoidable feature in my house (well, having a house in the sticks with a defunct door has its disadvantages, I guess…) and after having spent almost every night for the past month and many weekends before that, lessening their numbers in total disgust, it just came to me! It is actually, great fun!! Better than a video game, it practises your reflexes (spot the centipede, evaluate its current position, gain access to the closest flip flop available while trying to not alert it to your presence) and it really sharpens your aiming skills to a razor’s edge! They also come in kinds, the small fast buggers and the longer scolopendras that are a tad slower but more vicious and harder to cream.

In the last two days, after graduating from the first levels of the game (in the corners, behind furniture) I have moved to the more skilled levels, getting them on the ceiling! And since I am not Spiderman (Spiderwoman?) or The Fly, I have developed a finely tuned weapon, the Flying Flip-flop! It took some time to find the correct way to balance the weight of it so that it gained on the target without leaving any spots on my ceilings (hey, I do not want to repeat the experience of painting those again, way too tiring) and now, I am proud to say, centipedes beware!

So, instead of spending any time on the computer playing shooting games(not that I do, really), I exercise biceps, throwing arm, and spring by reducing the house’s body/feet average between two and eight (I have nothing against spiders in general) and keeping it there! Every night, a new challenge! (Plus, getting stung by a scolopendra is really very painful, and that keeps me alert!)

Tomorrow I’m checking out new doors, though!!! ;-D

What a shock, finally getting home at two in the morning after a two hour drive trying to avoid all the goons that raced one another after the game (by the way, if someone can explain what tractors with no aparrent back light and very dim front ones were doing travelling about in the middle of the night, please feel free to inform me), only to find a huge slug going about its business on my newly washed kitchen mats!!! Needless to say I almost dropped the stuffed tomatoes that I was carrying to the fridge and it is lucky I stiffled a scream that would have brought not only my landlady downstairs, but also the whole neighbourhood!! Yikes, I hate slimy things that appear in my kitchen (or anywhere in the house) and what is more, from no apparent opening!!!

Of course, the bat that I found flying in the kitchen a couple of years back, must have come through the chimney or squeezed through the window panes, and that was really gross, especially since I had to wash _everything_ in the kitchen, not only all the stuff that was not tucked away in a cupboard (that’s when I realised that there should be a limit to how many vases of spices can one keep on the kitchen counter) but also all the curtains and the carpet!!

Well, what’s going on? Enough already with all those creatures creeping in!!

After a couple of weekends of well deserved, total debauchery (how many bad drinks can one stand for and what is the universally accepted limit of mixed up orders one can get, well, guys, let’s have another go and find out, hehe!!) resolution time has finally arrived, ill-timed as always!!

Weekend of chores galore! Due to the adrenaline drip instigating from jogging in Spiantza, training cycles and all that jazz (hmf… spending night and day with the right person does that) and an excellent (though too abundant) diet, the whisper of my palm trees needing trimming has finally reached the well hidden cells of my brain and the unexpected cerebral activity has finally found its way to my muscles! So, after much debate with how much time should be spent on the beach, the newly grooomed palm trees wave in the almost non-existent breeze!

Shopping for new curtains, discussing a new door (that’s intoducing new grounds for argument) that will finally keep creepy things outside, and updated plans for the shower cabin. Landscaping the yard includes the fantastic spot with the old wine barrel as a table, palm umbrella on top, banana and palm trees with bougainvilleas all around, unhindered view to the sea and the rising moon, cool drinks hissing in the warmth of the night! It’s almost impossible not to look for new furniture as well, new desk in the den (though a new SATO is a given expense) and what have you! Ah, the list can go on and on!!!

The heat is rising! Kiwi time!

A promise of life suspended in the constant flux of centuries, a promise from the past in the present, to the future. Generation next, running through my hands. Spawn….

Joomla is so much fun, I have finally managed to remember (and learn) how it minimally works out, even though the near future is full of nights spent over the workings of its mind!!
Meanwhile, life outside 01 has its own bits of wisdom and fun! Earthquake galore all around, while Cuba fills our minds…

…or not??? It harldy seems fair to wonder! Isn’t it strange when things come in pairs? Binary oppositions? Well…., no! Luck, or lack of? I’m betting the first. And I am always right, aren’t I? ;-D
