In previous versions of Windows, users would have had to install third-party applications in order to properly work with ISO image files. These disc image files, which store the entire contents of a single optical disc, can be used to install programs, play games, watch movies or do anything you could do with an actual disc. How to Select File Explorer as the Default Application to Open ISO Files
Before you can get started you’ll need to ensure that File Explorer is set as the default application for opening ISO files. If you’ve changed it to a third-party app you’ll need to change it back.

Some Windows 8 PCs come with what are called “downgrade rights.” If your PC comes with Windows 8 Pro, you can downgrade to Windows 7 Pro just by installing it on top of your existing OS. You’ll need a legitimate disc and product key, but you can just use an old or used one—after you install, you can call Microsoft and they’ll activate your downgrade for you. You can even downgrade multiple machines with the same CD and key.
Not all computers come with downgrade rights , so be sure to do a bit of research before you try this out or buy your new Windows 8 computer. It can be a bit of a hassle, but it’s a nice option if you really want to keep using Windows 7.

Windows 8 comes pre-installed with some basic apps like Mail, Photos, Music etc. to help users get started with this all new interface. I have been thinking of reviewing some of these default apps lately, but most of them were in the preview stage till the Windows 8 Consumer Preview edition.
Now with the RTM edition launched, these apps are no more in their development stage. Hence I decided to take some time out and share an overview of each of those apps in the bundle so that this article acts as a reference point for anyone looking to learn about this new feature of Windows 8.
Before you start exploring, make sure you have a Microsoft account and you connect your copy of Windows 8 to it. Although the Windows 8 apps might work with a local account, having it synced online will keep your settings backed up on the clouds and keep your apps connected.
The Windows Store is Redmond’s answer to the Apple Store and Google Play. Users can visit it to download new Windows 8 apps and update their existing apps. While the Storeis a bit sparsely stocked as of now, offerings are sure to expand as the user base grows.
