Our school took part in the ‘Aπλώνουμε την Ευτυχία’ project which is running throughout Greek schools in order to raise money for a good cause. Class F drew T-shirts with slogans in English. Their slogans is all about what happiness means to them.
Today was a great day! Class F presented a short play about the origin of Shrove Tuesday and the pancake race.
The kindergarten pupils recited the ‘Mix a pancake’ rhyme for the whole school and then we went out for a wonderful pancake race in which everyone participated, even the teachers!
For the race we used the pancakes that class F made with their French teacher. Read the Greek article HERE.
Everyone had a blast!

Classes B & F are singing a song that includes everything we have been experiencing during this project (lyrics by Mrs. Froso). This song will be our contribution to the student festival that will be organized in Patra on 25/5 where all schools involved in health projects this year will take part.
Class F painted their friends and presented the portraits in class while sharing a few things about their friend’s appearance and personality.
How do we communicate? Do we communicate only through speech? How about body language? Which factors hinder communication? These were the questions that troubled us today…
How easy is it to concentrate? Do we always pay attention to our interlocutor? How can we concentrate? These are the questions we worked on today. At the end the pupils wrote down their thoughts and feelings, as they do every time.
Τoday the pupils worked in pairs, then in groups in an attempt to work on trust and feeling safe within the group. At the end they recorded their thoughts and feelings on paper.
Τoday we welcomed Mrs.Kyritsi in our English room. We had two hours with her that were most interesting and enjoyable . The pupils participated in engaging experiential activities that promoted trust, collaboration and friendship. This meeting was part of the project that we will work on throughout this year.
An Erasmus+ activity from the Madeira course, teaching resilience;
All of us have fears but we need to find ways to overcome them. Thus the pupils wrote down their fears about what the new school year holds and then they wrote positive thoughts that will help them overcome them. For example they are afraid that they won’t be good at history, so they decided to study harder. Not only did they have to express their fears to their group but also discuss or ask for help in order to find a positive and practical way to solve their problem. After that the two groups presented their work in class.
Starting off the year with a great bonding activity; the pupils closed their eyes and had to trust that their ‘guarding angel’ would lead them safely around the schoolyard.
A simple yet amazing activity that teaches how to trust, to believe in someone, to support and be a good friend; values that are necessary not only for the year ahead, but for a lifetime!
This is an Erasmus+ activity from the seminar held in Madeira back in August.
An Erasmus+ activity from the Barcelona seminar was introduced in class today!
The pupils were divided in teams with the mission to build a very tall tower using spaghetti, some string, plasticine and tape! Although it came out to be quite a difficult task, all the teams succeeded in engaging in fruitful dialogue, in expressing opinions, putting ideas to test, changing plans and in trying out many methods. All in a friendly and cooperative way, which was the main aim of this activity! Mission accomplished, then! Congratulations everyone!
