Learning about customs and festivals around the world is part of language learning. Class E learned about Chinese New Year and drew some pictures after the lesson.
We celebrated these days with a video call with class F of the 2nd Primary School of Akrata.
Class F presented what the European Union stands for and what European projects promote (solidarity, peace, democracy, respect etc) and our class E presented Greek words that exist in the English language. After the presentation they made a wonderful poster!
Congratulations to all the pupils in class E (2020-2021) who worked on our eTwinning called ‘Happy or sad, show it through art’! Our project has been awarded!

Watercolor Easter crafts were a success in class B and class E this year! Class E made big watercolor eggs and class B made some bunny garlands for their bedrooms!
Mrs Anastasia Efstathiou is our headteacher but she is also a writer. Today we welcomed her in our English room in order to be interviewed by class E with questions that had thought of themselves. The interview was recorded so that the pupils could translate it in English afterwards.
Thank you, Mrs Anastasia for your time ! It was nice getting to know you better!
Listen to the interview below:
Class E has completed a great project, a video presenting our school:
Today class E worked in the computer lab and they created some word clouds with words and phrases in the languages spoken in our school: Greek, Albanian, English, French and German. The German and the French teacher taught them some of the words too!
Talking about languages for the European Day of Languages today. We welcomed Mrs Panagiota, the German teacher in our English room and asked her to teach us some German words and phrases. Then the pupils filled in their multilingual chart:
Class E conducted a survey about how they use the internet. Then we went to the computer room and they made graphs on excel for the first time, while reading the instructions in English. Finally they discussed their findings looking at their graphs.
Do you like cake? Class E has just published an online book full of recipes for you to choose! First they learned all a bout writing recipes in English, then they translated their favourite family cake recipe in English and went to the computer lab to write them on the computer! Congratulations, guys! You are amazing! I will try them!

Class E learned how to read an English recipe and made chocolate chip cookies today!
There is no photo of the baked cookies because they ate them all at once!
We have been preparing quite early for the International Children’s Books Day, which is on April 2nd.
This year we will have a guest visitor, Mrs Anna Dendrinou, who is a children’s books author. We did a reading of her book ‘O Φίφης και ο Σήφης’ in English and then class A made bookmarks with the two mice looking at the moon and the ‘True friends always give a helping hand’. They made a bookmark as a gift for Mrs. Anna, too.
Class D prepared a wonderful wordsearch puzzle with flashcards for the other classes to do. Will they find the hidden words? The words they included were take from Mrs. Dendrinou’s book called ‘To φιλαράκι μου’ and the pupils used dictionaries to look up the unknown words.
Last, class E translated this year’s international poster in Englsih. They did excellent work using old pages, paper, markers and watercolors to make a collage.
Well done everyone! And remember this year’s quote ‘Stories are wings that help you fly everyday’.
