Today was the reopening of our English library! As all classes love reading books they welcomed the idea and borrowed 47 English books!
Our English library project was launched back in 2010 with many enthusiastic pupils participating actively as librarians and readers. Click here to see past posts about it. We are starting again with 127 books available and many hungry bookworms!

Library time is our favourite time!
Our English corner in the school library is ready!
This is the chart that readers recommend their favourite books to their classmates. They update it every week and they look at it before they decide which book to borrow!
All of our pupils love reading English books and then they recommend them to their classmates! In particular class C pupils love drawing and presenting their favourite pages!
There have been many book presentations and recommendations throughout February by enthusiastic readers from class C to class F! Their artwork inspired by the books was also amazing! Keep on reading!
Today we did a class reading of Pinocchio and then we made a puppet as groupwork!
We read Black Ant in class and the pupils drew pictures with captions!

Anna, a good friend living abroad, visited us today and apart from bringing a bag full of book for us, she shared with class F her experience as a Greek living in the Netherlands. The discussion was extremely interesting for the pupils, who had many questions for her and listened very carefully to what she said. A day to remember! Thank you!

This year has been a very active year at our English Library! There are many bookworms among the pupils of the younger classes in particular. Not only do they borrow books on a weekly basis, but they propose their own book covers as well. Here there are some of them:
This year the bookworms, especially the younger ones, are really hungry AND creative! Look at the beautiful book covers that they have drawn! They also remember to write their reviews in order to help their classmates decide which book to borrow next!
The bookmarks for the lucky bookworms who were at the Library’s opening and got one as a gifr are ready!
Today was the first day for our English Library and almost everyone from classes D, E and ST visited the English room to borrow a book to read. The first 20 lucky bookworms were given bookmarks to colour as a gift. 29 story books were lent today in total and despite the workload the librarians did an excellent work!

Today the librarians were very busy!
They started checking each book in our English library so that all of them are ready for the next school year.
Lending cards were replaced and fortunately only one storybook got lost.
Even more hungry bookworms have visited our English library.
The librarians are on fire!!! 
Our library has been open 5 years in a row and today it was the first day for the new school year.
Lots of kids volunteered to become librarians this year, too, and lots of them have been very eager for the time to come to be able to borrow books.So, I’m guessing it will be another exciting reading year with all these hungry bookworms!
Our first day was quite successful and counted 18 book titles borrowed.

Today it was the day to congratulate all the bookworms who ‘ate’ books throughout the school year, but mostly to thank the librarians who offered their time during our English library.
The lucky ones even won a small London book to always remember their participation as bookworms or as librarians!
