A nice surprise!

I had a wonderful surprise today at school!

Three of my D’ class pupils, Hara, Stavroula and Emilia, came in the English room with a big smile and an even bigger 3D paper town! Apparently they were so inspired by our town lesson that they decided to make one of their own.

Their town is absolutely FANTASTIC!

Τhere is a sports centre, a theatre, a football field, a bakery and a shopping centre. There is a big park, where some kids are having a picnic (wow!) and a tiny car that distributes bread all over town. There is even the Big Ben, a tribute to England, since they’re learning English, as Hara noted!

Getting ready

Today classes C’, D’ , E’ and ST’ discussed their notes they took during the last lesson,while watching how Mr Bean (and all British people for that matter) celebrates Christmas. They also saw and discussed photos of British Christmas. They loved the British customs and they decided which ones they would like to bring to life in class.

So, they wrote down that they want to:

decorate a Christmas tree

make crackers

make Christmas chains

learn English carols

Next week they’ll begin with their most favourite custom, making crackers, and making christmas chains! So, here’s the video the older pupils watched in order to be prepared for the next lesson:

In the crackers there’s usually a Christmas hat. This is a great video on how to make it!

We can’t wait to try out ours!

Incy Wincy Spider

Incy Wincy is a determined little spider that doesn’t give up! He wants to go up the water spout despite the rain and he finally makes it! Classes C’ and D’ sang the song and made an Incy Wincy craft to hang in their bedroom!

A beautiful flower for your Easter table!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

There were too many hearts during the English lessons yesterday and today in bothe schools! Almost every class, made a Valentine’s card to give to their Valentines, or their beloved ones! I know for a fact, that some cards reached their destination!

Their cards came out really nice, however, it was not so easy, since they had to listen to the instructions in English!

Foam flowers

This is a nice video on how to make easy flowers. You need:

a piece of foam
two pipe cleaners (yellow & green)
glue
scissors

Easter eggs

Easter is coming!

Time to hard-boil some eggs!

Snowflakes

Brrrr…….

It’s winter and sooo cold outside!!!

The weather report says it may snow this week! So, why not bring some snow into our houses too?

Do you know how to make snowflakes?

It’s super easy!

All you need is white paper and a pair of scissors .

Booooooooo!

People in the USA, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom celebrated Halloween last Monday, on 31th October.

Here is a GHOSTLY craft for you to try this weekend!

YOU NEED:

a paper plate
white paper
black and pink markers
glue
scissors
white crepe paper
a piece of white yarn

How to make it:

1. Cut two arms from white paper.

2. Glue the arms to the back of the paper plate.

3. Cut crepe paper into five strips. Glue crepe paper to the back of the paper plate so that they hang down from the bottom.

4. Draw the face with the markers.

5. Stick the yarn to the back of the plate and it’s ready to hang!

Easter birds

Look at this bird!

Tomorrow is Holy Thursday and it’s the day when we traditionally dye eggs.

So, why not try this craft, while your mum is dying the rest?

It’s super easy to make!

These are all the materials you need:

hard boiled coloured eggs or white hard boiled eggs
a black marker (for the eyes)
feathers
glue
orange paper

Instructions:

Start with a plain white egg.

Paint on black eyes.

Glue on an orange paper beak and feathers on the egg.

You can make lots of birds in different colours (body/feathers/beak) and decorate your table for Easter day !!!
