Some thoughts on pollution (class A, feedback from discussion concerning the environment)
There’s no doubt our planet is being threatened more than ever by the pollution of the environment and the irrational use of materials such as plastic, glass and so on.
Besides efforts on a global basis, people still continue to destroy the environment after all that is being done to protect it. Plastic is everywhere, fumes from cars and dangerous smoke coming from the pipes of industries is currently polluting the air we breathe. Water is contaminated and the animals living in lakes, rivers and seas die every day. In general, air, water, noise pollution and pollution of the land are worldwide issues of great concern. They are responsible for the contamination of water supplies and the soil, damage to crops and the ozone layer, acid rain, deforestation and serious emotional and health problems.
I feel what we really need is some kind of environmental culture and this could be achieved mainly through school education. People should become more aware of how much waste they throw away. They should try to buy more recycable and environmentally- friendly products so as to reduce waste. The government should also try to find other methods of waste disposal rather than just dumping everything on the land. However, it makes me feel glad that there are other people who feel responsible enough to actually go out and do something about it.
POLLUTANTS
