Little Citizens of Europe – Building Friendships
Proud and grateful to have received a National Quality Label for this creative and colourful journey!
European eTwinning Program – “A Journey Through Art!” (Class ST2)
In collaboration with schools from Portugal, Italy, and Greece, Grade 6 students from the 87th Primary School of Thessaloniki participated in the European eTwinning project “A Journey Through Art!”
The project aimed to encourage creativity, explore and develop basic artistic skills and practice English through the universal language of art.
We began with a pre-survey in the computer lab to reflect on what we already knew and what we expected from this artistic adventure and then our first discussion focused on Netiquette – the rules of respectful behavior online. Students learned about digital responsibility and signed a Netiquette Contract to promote safe and thoughtful communication throughout the project.
The students then helped design the official project logo. Our school was assigned the palette and paintbrush. This creative process revealed some truly inspiring student artwork.
Using Padlet via the European School Education Platform (ESEP) and our project’s TwinSpace, students uploaded avatars and short descriptions of themselves. This helped foster connection and interactivity with their European peers.
Then the artwork began. A favorite activity was the Zen Tangle Art session – a mindful drawing technique based on repeated patterns.
Students created their own artwork and reflected on their emotions during the process. Some felt calm, others excited – and some found it a bit repetitive. All perspectives were welcome!

Students then wrote short texts in English about nature, and used AI tools to generate images inspired by their writing. The results were amazing!
We compiled all texts and images into a beautiful digital book created in class.

Finally, students explored abstract art and used a “drawing code” to create individual pieces to add to a wall mural. Later, they came together as a class to design a collaborative painting using the same visual theme. This piece was assembled into a collaborative patchwork quilt, alongside contributions from our international partners.
We wrapped up our journey with an online meeting with our partner schools.
Students said goodbye, played a fun Baamboozle review game, and received their Participation Certificates.
At the end of the project, students shared their thoughts and impressions on a digital Linoit board, expressing what they enjoyed and learned and completed a final questionnaire to evaluate the experience.
✨ It was a fun, creative, and unforgettable experience that brought learning to life through international collaboration and artistic expression!
Very proud and grateful for the quality labels we received.
