Ο PRESENT CONTINUOUS σχηματίζεται κλίνοντας το ρήμα Be (στον Ενεστώτα) και στο Κυρίως Ρήμα προσθέτοντας την κατάληξη -ing.

ΚΑΤΑΦΑΣΗ:

I am reading / you are reading / he is reading / she is reading / it is reading

we are reading / you are reading / they are reading

ΕΡΩΤΗΣΗ:

Am I reading? / Are you reading? / Is he reading? / Is she reading? / Is it reading?

Are we reading? / Are you reading? / Are they reading?

ΑΡΝΗΣΗ:

I am not reading / you aren’t reading / he isn’t reading / she isn’t reading / it isn’t reading

we aren’t reading / you aren’t reading / they aren’t reading 

!!!ΟΡΘΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟΙ ΚΑΝΟΝΕΣ!!!

• Αν το ρήμα τελειώνει σε -e, τότε διώχνουμε το -e και μετά προσθέτουμε το -ing. Πχ. come > coming, write > writing
• Αν το ρήμα είναι μονοσύλλαβο και τελειώνει σε σύμφωνο-φωνήεν-σύμφωνο, τότε διπλασιάζεται το τελευταίο σύμφωνο πριν          το -ing.   Πχ. run > running, sit > sitting   !!!ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ!!! ΔΕ ΔΙΠΛΑΣΙΑΖΟΝΤΑΙ ΤΑ ΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΑ w, x και y.
