Η θρησκευτική μας εικονογραφία είναι γεμάτη από σπουδαίες απεικονίσεις σκηνών από τα πάθη και την Ανάσταση του Χριστού, απεικονίσεις ιδιαίτερου “ύψους” και “μεγέθους”, οι οποίες καταφέρνουν με μοναδικό ίσως τρόπο να αποδώσουν όχι μόνο την τραγικότητα αλλά και την εσωτερική διάσταση και αλήθεια αυτών των στιγμών.
