On March 31, 2025, students and teachers from Esperino Gel Prevezas took part in a remarkable wildlife conservation event—the release of a rehabilitated owl in the area of Agioi Apostoloi, Preveza. This action was carried out within the framework of the eTwinning project Biodiversity Guardians: Protecting Nature Together.
The owl had been found injured in December 2024 and was taken in by a wildlife rescue organization. After months of dedicated care and rehabilitation, the owl regained its strength and was deemed ready to return to its natural habitat.
The release event provided an invaluable educational experience for students, allowing them to witness firsthand the importance of protecting and restoring wildlife. Through this initiative, participants gained a deeper understanding of biodiversity conservation and the role that individuals and communities can play in safeguarding nature.
Esperino Gel Prevezas remains committed to raising awareness about environmental protection and actively engaging in actions that promote sustainability and wildlife conservation. The school takes pride in being part of Biodiversity Guardians: Protecting Nature Together and looks forward to further initiatives that support the preservation of our planet’s natural heritage.
