
Συνεργασία του σχολείου μας στα πλαίσια του προγράμματος ERASMUS+ με σχολεία από την Αυστρία και την Πολωνία . Στο σχέδιο αυτό χρησιμοποιείται η μέθοδος LEARNING THROUGH ENVIRONMENT
The learning method “Learning through environment” is intended to promote the development of language skills, motor skills, mathematics, creativity and nature. In the preschool facilities, the children have the opportunity to discover mathematics in meaningful contexts and situations. The environment that the child is already familiar with and the immediate vicinity of the kindergarten support the strengthening of the child’s abilities. On the way to kindergarten or on the way home, the children often pass the same places and after a while they already know them, e.g. playgrounds, parks, conspicuous buildings or bus or tram stops. The excursions and walks are also about making the children better acquainted with the local area. In pedagogical work with children, one has to distinguish between informal learning (games, interactions with educational workers) and formal learning (thematic work, guided exercises).
Both communication with the children and social skills are referred to as basic skills.
The basic competence is the establishment of contacts and the development of relationships between the children and the caregivers. It is important to be able to identify with the situations of others and to be able to look at these situations from different perspectives. It is also about showing respect and appreciation for others. In addition to oral language skills, there are other different means of being able to communicate with one another.
The profile of the ethnic situation has changed over the years. The learning method is geared even closer to the child’s environment. In our educational work with the children, it is important for us to support and encourage the urge to explore. Children now grow up in a wide variety of family structures and the parents also come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
With the learning method “Learning through environment” it should be noted that strengthening the child’s competencies in the various development areas for children under 6 years of age by using the already familiar environment is one of the most important goals. By using this method, the children’s education and learning experiences are more closely linked to the respective geographical – as well as lingual area in kindergartens with multilingualism – primarily in larger cities.
