Στα πλαίσια του μαθήματος των Αγγλικών της Α’ Λυκείου οι μαθητές συμμετείχαν στο eTwinning με σκοπό την επαφή με την Αγγλική Γλώσσα και τη χρήση της σε πραγματικό περιβάλλον. Αφιερώθηκε 1 ώρα την εβδομάδα και για 6 εβδομάδες. Η καθηγήτρια παρουσίαζε στην τάξη το υλικό, ακολουθούσε συζήτηση και οδηγίες, δίνονταν τα links και οι μαθητές ανέβαζαν στο σπίτι το υλικό τους.
Το θέμα ήταν ‘Cultural, linguistic and friendly exchanges between Greece and France’. Οι μαθητές είχαν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν μέσα από το πρόγραμμα συνομίληκους μαθητές από ένα Γαλλικό σχολείο και να αλληλεπιδράσουν ανταλλάσσοντας φωτογραφίες και πληροφορίες με θέματα το σχολείο τους, την πόλη που ζουν, τη χώρα και τον πολιτισμό της και να μιλήσουν για την καθημερινότητά τους και ότι αγαπούν (ταινίες, τραγουδιστές κλπ).

The Alchemist is “more self-help than literature.” The advice given Santiago that “when you really want something to happen, the whole universe will conspire so that your wish comes true” is the core of the novel’s philosophy and a motif that plays throughout it.“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart” .The idea for On the Road, Kerouac’s second novel, was formed during the late 1940s in a series of notebooks, and then typed out on a continuous reel of paper during three weeks in April 1951. It was first published by Viking Press in 1957. After several film proposals dating from 1957, the book was finally made into a film, On the Road (2012), produced by Francis Ford Coppola and directed by Walter Salles. When the book was originally released, The New York Times hailed it as “the most beautifully executed, the clearest and the most important utterance yet made by the generation Kerouac himself named years ago as ‘beat,’ and whose principal avatar he is.” In 1998, the Modern Library ranked On the Road 55th on its list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century. The novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005.

Gulliver’s Travels, whose full title is Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships, (1726, amended 1735), is a prose satire by Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift, that is both a satire on human nature and the “travellers’ tales” literary subgenre. It is Swift’s best known full-length work, and a classic of English literature. He himself claimed that he wrote Gulliver’s Travels “to vex the world rather than divert it”.

The Catcher in the Rye is a 1951 novel by J. D. Salinger. A controversial novel originally published for adults, it has since become popular with adolescent readers for its themes of teenage angst and alienation. It has been translated into almost all of the world’s major languages. Around 1 million copies are sold each year with total sales of more than 65 million books. The novel’s protagonist Holden Caulfield has become an icon for teenage rebellion. The novel also deals with complex issues of innocence, identity, belonging, loss, and connection. The novel was included on Times 2005 list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923 and it was named by Modern Library and its readers as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.
