Our school is located in Thrace, in northern Greece, near the borders with Turkey and Bulgaria. It is a rural, agricultural area. Melons, sunflowers, cereals and sugar beets are some of the products that are cultivated in this area. People here are hospitable and welcoming. Traditions are important here. As part of this marvelous community, this school develops educational activities that help in the preservation of the cultural tradition.We also live in a region of quite significant natural importance. The river Evros and its delta is a stork habitat during the summer. You can see the birds nesting over the rooftops. Moreover, the forest of Dadia is a place where animals like bears and vultures live in abundance. The wildfires of last summer was of course nothing short of a disaster, but we all hope that nature and life will find its way again soon.
