Activity P6 (Language) – December 2018

On December 7th we had our first meeting on the topic of Language. Our Language teachers (Mr. Kyrailides and Ms. Koutroupa) made some very interesting presentations on the history of the Greek language and the story of the writing systems.

We read the speech of Mr. Zolotas (former Greek Prime Minister) given in Washington in 1959. In this speech all content words are solely of Greek origin. This showed the great influence that the Greek language has over English.

Your task for our next meeting is to choose a Greek word from the speech and try to find its definition. We will then vreate a crossword puzzle with these words and their definitions. You can find Mr. Zolotas’ speech here: Part 1 & Part 2.

Important reminder!

Please remember to bring your Christmas cards with you on Monday! We need to have them ready to go by then. So, those of you who didn’t finish them at school the other day should finish them at home and bring them to school on Monday. That’s your final deadline.

Student’s Meeting 21st November 2018

The Erasmuses are meeting on Wednesday 21st November 2018 after classes. We will talk about Christmas activities (exchange of Christmas cards with our Spanish partners), about the use of Twinspace (we want you to be more active on the platform and start communicating with the Spanish students), and of course we will have fun playing the playground games. Be there!
