A letter to our epals :Α school trip to Dimitsana Watermill museum
Dear Joe,
Hi! How are you? Thanks for your letter. I’m writing this letter to tell you my news. Three weeks ago, I visited the watermill museum with my class and over there we learnt a lot.
In a lot of places in Greece many watermills were built, which were used for flour production. The flourmill of the museum which we visited belongs to the type with horizontal paddle wheel. The water is channelled into the millrace. The grain is placed in the hopper. The meal is collected in the meal box, from where it is removed with a woolen scoop. The mill functioned on a continuous basis, the miller lived next to it.
As for the rest of this tour, we enjoyed sandwiches and soft drinks offered by the people of the museum. We also doughed and tasted Greek pancakes with honey!
