The students try to create a code that will guide the Bee-Bot from our kindergarten to the most important landmarks and attractions of our city.
For this activity, we selected and built some of Chios’ most significant monuments and points of interest:
- The Castle of Chios, constructed with magnetic building blocks.
- The Three Windmills, created using recycled materials.
- The Lighthouse of Chios Harbor, also made from recycled materials.
- Daskalopetra (Homer’s Rock), the historic site traditionally associated with the poet Homer.
Using these landmarks on the Bee-Bot mat, the children work collaboratively to plan routes, sequence commands, and develop their early coding and problem-solving skills while exploring the cultural heritage of their city.
