We are going to follow a video based lesson at CS First of Google (https://csfirst.withgoogle.com/s/en/home), using scratch to create a Doodle Logo for Earth Day. This activity is appropriate for Junior High School students and Elementary School students.

Pressure Switch Alarm & Rain Alarm
You will create a wireless intruder alarm that will warn you when someone steps on a home-made pressure sensor.
You will program two micro:bits to communicate with radio messages so if the transmitter micro:bit is pressed, the receiver warns you that there is an intruder in your house.
You will also create and program a rain alarm which is triggered by rain.
This activity is appropriate for Junior High School sudents & Elementary School students.

Coding our Smart City Lights- Automatic systems in cars to switch their lights of and off- a rear smart lamp for your bike.
Ιn this activity students program the BBC micro:bit to switch the LEDs on the display on and off according to the ambient light to save energy. This prototype could be used in automatic city lights, in cars to switch their lights on and off as the light level changes. It could also be used on the back of somebody’s bike saddle to create a rear smart lamp.
This activity is suitable for Junior High School students and Elementary school students.
With this activity we are going to take part in Arab Code Week.

A bag for Juliane
Introduction
In this activity, students learn about Juliane, a girl from Zimbabwe who has come to England as a refugee and create a light up bag for her journey to school.
Learning objectives
- To develop empathy and understanding for child refugees
- To design a bag to help Juliane, a child refugee, feel safer on her school journey
- To design and code a light for Juliane’s bag using micro:bit
- To create a bag featuring a micro:bit light and other features to help Juliane (if you have materials)

Flashing wheels
Introduction
Students design, create and test a prototype of a flashing wheel light to help improve road safety at night for wheelchair users.
Learning objectives
- To develop understanding of issues around road safety for wheelchair users, especially at night.
- To design and create a prototype of a flashing wheel light using micro:bit to help wheelchair users ‘Be Safe: Be Seen!’ at night.
- To test, debug, evaluate and present a Flashing wheel light prototype.
