The motivation

Frida is a cat painter from Mexico who learnt to paint on her own by reading the beautiful book A History of Art in 21 Cats (Diana Vowles, Jocelyn Norbury, (ill.) Nia Gould, A History of Art in 21 Cats, Michael O’Mara Books Ltd, London 2019). She loves to travel the world and visit art museums. She is now visiting Paris, but she will also be visiting our countries. The programme begins with a parcel she sends us, containing a letter and her favourite book. From her letter we learn the purpose of our mission. Before she returns to Mexico, Frida wants us to help her collect material from many countries to display in the Cats.In.Art Museum she is going to create.

The project is divided into 4 groups of art movements, each group lasting two months. During this time, (every two months), the cat mascot Frida will introduce us to two different art movements and one representative artist from each.
