The students walked around the city of Chaidari, took photos, discussed and eventually chose the spaces to present. The rationale of the choices along with detailed descriptions and photos are found in the presentation they prepared for the 2nd activity in Loimaa, Finland. The information was also edited in a portfolio.

For Activity 3, the Greek students had to prepare their own suggestions for works of art for the German school. The students had to work individually or in groups. First, they had to study the German presentation. Then, they had to choose the space they preferred and think of its function and its importance. Finally, they had to prepare a project which included their suggestion with the reasons they reached this decision. To reach the desired results, students had the opportunity to talk about art, see a plethora of art works and discuss them with the art teacher in our weekly group meetings. For Activity 4, students had to prepare a model or maquette for the work of art they had visualised. The work is called “Under my Umbrella” and is to be installed on the square of the city of Heusenstamm in Germany.
The idea started with the photo of the square. As the kids said, “For us, the square is the place where we meet our friends. It’s a place where a lot of people spend their free time. This led us to the concept of friendship and that was what we wanted to share with our German friends.”
