The 5 Major Benefits of 3D Printing in Education
5 major benefits of 3D printing’s impact on education
- Creates Excitement – 3D printing offers students the ability to experience their projects from the model stage to actual creation of the model. This creates both excitement and a better understanding of the design process as they gain hands-on experience it from conception to creation. The individual features are seen more clearly as the student builds the project layer by layer. Excitement also stems from the ability to explore details in reality, not just on a screen or in a textbook. 3D printing also brings the world of theory to the physical world where students can see and touch, opening up new possibilities for learning and activities.
- Complements the Curriculum – No matter what curriculum is being used, 3D printing can help students and teachers work better. 3D printing elevates students from being passive consumers of information on a screen with no thought given to productivity. Unlike conventional classrooms where students are easily bored, they become active and engaged participants through the conception, design, and execution of their projects and interacting with the 3D printer and the teacher.

Summary
It was observed by all our partners during education and training that rapidly growing robotic applications in education attracted the interest and attention of the students and helped them to participate classes more effectively and more enthusiastically. Preparing today’s students requires educational systems to provide a core body of knowledge as well as a set of skills needed. At the same time the rapid growth of digital tools available increase the challenges of nowadays. The high exposure of 21st century students in web 2.0 tools, devices, and environments opens a window of new affordances, challenges, opportunities, and skills for learning/teaching and assessment. Partners Haydar Akin Mesleki Teknik Anadolu Lisesi
Our school consists of IT, Electronics,(ET) and Fashion Design(MT) Technologies department which includes 550 students and 57 teachers. There are 14 classrooms,4 BT, 4 ET, 4 MT workshop, library, multipurpose hall, indoor gym, canteen and project working class. After completing 9th grade courses, our students prefer department according to their success, request and ability. Our vocational courses are applied in our workshops for 10,11,12. classes. Our 12th grade students complete their internships in qualified enterprises. However, the employment of the students as qualified personnel after graduation is below the school targets. Unemployment problem in Turkey, changes in students’ preferences for higher education, the gap between the school curriculum and workshop practices and new technologies and business perspectives leads to it.
