Our school unit is situated at the historic marine town of Galaxidi, at 22 Gourgouri street, at the entrance of the village, next to the Primary School.

Attending kindergarten is one of the most important thresholds in children’s lives, as being their first school it provides them with social, sentimental, cognitive and kinesthetic education, preparing their integration at school and in the long term at life.

Our school unit’s vision is the creation of a sustainable school, happy, progressive, democratic, inclusive where all of the children will be able to develop their talents and skills. This kind of school creates the opportunities for reflection, gives love to all of the pupils, independently from their performance functioning as a lab of life and joy.

This year the school’s dynamic includes 26 pupils and the personnel consists of three kindergarten teachers, and a cleaning staff. There are two morning classes and an optional all- day school. The upgraded expanded all- day school (expanded duration) has been temporarily suspended this year

The basic idea of the ‘Sustainable School’ is to integrate the values and principles of sustainability in all school operations, in every aspect of school life, i. e. in administration, teaching and learning, in resource management, in the school’s relations with the school and the wider community. We can classify the characteristics of a sustainable school into three general categories or three interconnected and interdependent areas (or fields):

A. The pedagogical

B. The social/organisational

C. The environmental/economic.

The teaching staff of our school, based on the organisation and philosophy of pre-school education, designs educational activities and actions involving aiming at invoving students in a pleasant and playful way during the educational process.

During the year, indicative material from our activities is posted as well as informative announcements, circulars of the Ministry of Education, Religious affairs and Sports, useful information on the operation of the school unit.
