From my window…November activity-Let’s observe and compare!

At the same time, on the same day, the children will take a picture of what is coming out of their window (at this time of year there will already be differences in sunlight, and there may be snow, more or less heat). Once in possession of all the photographs, each group explores the reasons for this to happen (Earth rotation, time difference, more or less far from the equator).

Let’s observe and compare! On the 22nd of November, at 9.00 am in the Azores and 12.00 am in the rest of the countries, every school will take a picture outside their window and post it on the Genial.ly contact below.

From my Window….October activity- part 2- “Little Bee, Oh my Little Bee! Look out the window, what do you see?”

Students are divided into groups looking outside the classroom window and decide to draw or photograph something they noticed and really liked. Then they place their drawing or photo inside a square of Grid or map 4×4 squares (15cm²) compatible with BeeBot or any other programmable floor robot. When all groups have placed their drawings or photos on Grid or map, one student is selected from each group by drawing lots to make the BeeBot move from a starting point until the drawing or photo of her/his group. At the same time, another student will place tags with directional arrows: forward, backward, left, right, and the rest of the students of the group will draw the BeeBot route on paper sheet.

When the routes from each group are ready, students by following the code they have drawn on paper sheets, program the BeeBot to reach all the pictures and explain to each group what they liked most from what they saw outside the classroom window.
