Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage

Cultural heritage refers to artifacts (paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures) historical monuments and buildings  as well as archaeological sites. However ,photographs, documents, books ,manuscripts and instruments  are also part of tangible cultural Heritage.   Whatever identifies communities is considered to be cultural heritage. In that sense the natural environment is part of it.

Intangible cultural heritage includes  traditions, music, dances ,carnivals coral history and any knowledge transferred from generation to generation within a community.

Knowing what a nation’s  culture consists of we become aware of its civilization and mutual respect is built.
