The General Lyceum of Kallithea is a public high school located in Neochorouda, a rural area 15 kilometers north of Thessaloniki, with approximately 2,000 residents. Our school enrolls 148 students who come from Neochorouda and neighboring villages.
For the 2024-2025 school year, our school operates seven general education classes: three in the 10th grade, and two each in the 11th and 12th grades. The teaching staff consists of 15 teachers from various specialties, supported by two cleaning staff members.
The school is housed in a complex of five buildings, with the original structures built around 1922, which functioned as a primary school until 2007, when the Lyceum was established.
The facilities include seven classrooms, a Computer Lab, the principal’s office, a faculty room, and a small library room. All classrooms are equipped with projection equipment and desktop computers, while two classrooms are fitted with modern interactive whiteboards. The school does not have a multipurpose room or gymnasium, so students use the municipal gymnasium of Neochorouda for physical education classes and the Neochorouda Cultural Center for all celebrations and events.
Our school’s vision emphasizes outward engagement, social inclusion of students, and the development of activities involving teachers, students, parents, and the community. Our goal is the comprehensive, harmonious, and balanced development of the intellectual and physical capacities of students, ensuring that regardless of gender or background, they can grow into well-rounded individuals capable of living creatively and responding successfully to various situations. We strive to foster a sense of responsibility and problem-solving in a climate of creative dialogue and collective effort.
Moreover, our school encourages the participation of all students in projects and activities that promote creativity, talents, and their special interests, aiding in social integration, acceptance, and the promotion of understanding and solidarity across Europe and globally, while also working to reduce student dropout rates.
Additionally, our students take part in various competitions (Mathematics, Computer Science) and diverse school-based activities (artistic, experiential, charitable). Finally, we participate annually in school sports competitions in both team and individual sports.
